DSLR Viewfinder

so i did use the DigiFinderPro a few days now … i did shoot a big event as well, so her some thoughts: First: if you are using the 550D / T2i choose thenew 3:2 version. That version fits perfectly on the bigger screen. That’s the version i have, so no issues here :) So it did help a lot during the shooting. now you can actually see whats on your screen in bright sunlight even the “eye-piece” isn’t covering the eye perfectly. (But there will be an update soonso you can buy an optional eyepiece.)

Its small and easy to mound with/ on a sticky-frame and the viewfinder will mount quite safe on it … did not drop accidentally so far. It comes with a lanyard so you can hang it around your neck. You can adjust the diopter easy by pulling and pushing in the lens-piece itself but if you like me wearing glasses you have to set it to 0 (push it all the way in) so as a result you can’t see the whole screen and by wearing glasses it’s a i bit more uncomfortable with this kind of eye piece ( but i can’t say anything about all the other viewfinders in that matter)… in the end its a nice useful tool especially if you shoot outside. Its a nice useful tool especially if you shoot outside.

The other thing is judging focus… well sometimes i had some issues with wider lenses to really see if it’s really true sharp ( hit the “focus-point”) so i still tend to use magnification button on the cam just to be safe … but had no issues with my 50mm and my zoom at about 100-200mm.

now, i remind you it’s just a 50 bucks piece so it might not be as comfortable or “advanced” as the “big players” you all know (if not check nino’s viewfinder review … ) but worth the money.

So in the end its a great & useful tool for the money … a viewfinder is an essential tool for all Pro-HDSLR-shooters and with this DigiFinderPro its very affordable … but might not be as pro as some of the more expensive ones … for now it works for me ;)

Great short review on the DigiFinder. I just got the 600D and I think I’ll have to check this out :)
